LinkedIn profile

Simone was born in Long Island, New York, raised by Caribbean immigrant parents seeking greater educational and economic opportunities in the United States. Simone’s parents were able to start their family and work full time jobs during the day while Simone’s mother attended undergraduate evening classes at Baruch College. Although, Simone’s father passed away from cancer when she was young, Simone’s mother would continue to raise her three young children (including Simone, her twin brother, & older brother) and go on to become a senior corporate accountant in Manhattan.

Grit, determination, courage, & compassion is Simone's & DNA. Around the office she is affectionately known as, “The Matriarch.” She comes from a long line of resilient, driven, & trailblazing women that were way ahead of their time as progressive womanists.

Simone was born a servant leader; as a life-long Girl Scout, she started cultivating her discipline, skills, and practice at 6 years old. Simone’s fundamental integrity around servant leadership was built on equality, equity, and empowerment. In addition to her natural abilities, emotional intelligence formed from real life experiences and professional acumen, Simone has led cross-functional teams around the world with adept and dynamic execution.

Simone has over 17 years of experience in providing strategic planning, operational and fiscal management services to Fortune 100 and multilateral organizations. In all of her roles, Simone has served as a trusted counterpart and champion.

During her free time, she volunteers with organizations that provides resources to underserved communities including Harlem Children’s Zone, the US Small Business Administration and Accion.

Simone holds a BA from Tufts University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. No matter how difficult or complex the obstacle is, she always finds a way. Simone Castillo always finds a way.
